Rajan Shahi speaks about Nitesh Pandey

When news of the deaths of performers Aditya Singh Rajput and Vaibhavi Upadhyay broke online, the entire industry was shocked. Another shocking piece of information followed, confirming the demise of actor Nitesh Pandey from the television series “Anupamaa.” He was 51. On May 23, Nitesh experienced a heart attack.

One of the most significant cameo roles in the show was played by Nitesh. The producer of Anupamaa, Rajan Shahi, who has known him for 26 years and last spoke to him when Nitesh received his painting, was contacted by India Forums.

“I am shocked and sad,” he said. For the past 26 years, Nitesh and I have known each other while we battled in our various industries. We also connected through a mutual acquaintance. At that time, we got along really well. He was a good-natured individual who was full of life and always kept his cool under pressure. Though we didn’t communicate frequently, we nonetheless got along well. ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahaenge’ was a project we worked on together in 2011. Just like he appeared in real life, he played a lovely role. He had prior obligations when I phoned him for Anupamaa, but he still decided to be a part of it without even hearing about the role. He told me when we first met on the set that he used to adore being on the sets and that if it weren’t for his prior obligations, he would have wanted to be a regular on the show.

He said, “On May 3rd, he suddenly sent me a landscape painting with beautiful landscapes that he painted. That was the last time we spoke. That painting had a sentimental value that he had never before expressed. Wherever he may be, he has my thoughts and prayers. I hope he is in a nice location, preferably somewhere peaceful like the scene in the artwork. I send my sincerest sympathies to his family. In today’s negative and contentious environment, he was a decent artist and person. It’s uncommon to encounter someone in this day and age who values professionalism. I’m not in Mumbai right now, but I’ll see his family as soon as I go there.

Nitesh Pandey has also appeared in a number of other serials besides Anupamaa, such as Manzilein Apani Apani, Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani, Saaya, Justajoo, and Durgesh Nandini. Additionally, he contributed to the movie “Om Shanti Om” and “Badhaai Do.”
