Makeup and hair stylist Nilam Kenia, who has worked with the likes of Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, is now working with legendary actor Madhuri Dixit. Madhuri will be seen in a Netflix web series called The Actress, and Nilam would be doing her hair for the project.
Nilam loves collaborating with Madhuri. “Working with Madhuri ji has been a great experience so far. There is so much to learn when you work with a senior actor, who is also a diva of her times. She is an absolute timeless beauty and also a very humble human being,” she says. Ask her how Madhuri’s hair will look in the series, and Nilam says, “The hairstyles we are trying on her for this series are very fresh and organic. They are very easy going. Nothing is very set or fixed. Going with the content of the series, the looks are inspired from day-to-day life and are very organic. As opposed to TV shows where looks are very set and controlled.”
Well, Nilam knows what looks best on the artist. “Open soft curls are her absolute favourite and she carries them effortlessly!” she says. The stylist has her favourites looks too when it comes to the actor. “I really loved when Madhuri ji recreated the look of legendary Madhu Bala ji at a recent Dance Deewane episode. It is very difficult to pick one look that I love but her looks in Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Khalnayak, Devdas are some of my favourites,” says Nilam.
