We love hair texture in all its beautiful forms, be it curly, kinky, straight, or wavy. When it comes to how you should wear yours, though, it’s very much up to you. My colleague and I recently got a keratin treatment at Streax Professional; the treatment transformed my relationship with my hair. The keratin treatment helped me learn to love and care for my natural wave and texture. Although it’s not permanent, for at least 3–4 months, the hair remains lustrous and beautiful. It’s great for people with naturally curly hair because it takes the frizz out and makes it more manageable.
The treatment involves applying a Streax Professional Canvoline keratin formula to the hair before sealing it with heat. It takes around 2-4 hours to apply and then straighten the hair with an iron.
Earlier keratin treatments contained formaldehyde or methylene glycol, which led to keratin treatments being largely banned for health and safety concerns, but Streax Professional Canvoline is formaldehyde-free and allows you to have frizz-free hair at ease.
We started off with a gentle clarifying shampoo to prep the hair, before applying the Streax Professional Canvoline and leaving it on for approximately 60 mins. Lastly, since the treatment is heat-activated, the stylist flat ironed the hair in small sections to seal it in.
We were informed that the rule for keratin treatments is to stay away from water and avoid making ponytails for at least two days. After two days, they suggested hair wash with Canvoline shampoo and conditioner.
