Anantica Sahir on writing about human emotions

Anantica Sahir has scripted many successful television projects. The writer has extensively worked on both fiction and non-fiction shows such as Navya, Malika Ka Swayamwar- Bachelorette, Humese Hai Life, Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara, Itti Si Khushi, Hello Pratibha, Vishkanya and Nima Denzongpa on Colors

“Having been a part of the industry for over a decade I have been fortunate to work on several amazing projects as a story and screenplay writer. Each one of them has helped me grow and made me what I am today,” says Anantica, who started her career with the TV show Navya. “I wrote the story for it and it was such an amazing experience.”

Interestingly, Anantica has not taken any professional training in writing. And, she had a different career goal altogether.

“On the contrary, I have an MBA degree from the University of Southampton, UK & had a very different career plan. Even as a child I loved creating stories and I feel my over-active mind is what helps me in creating new content. But I never saw writing as a profession until my mentor Vivek Behl saw some potential in me & gave me an opportunity to write. If it wasn’t for him I am not sure I would be where I am today. Each of the shows that I have worked on has been my school of learning and I can confidently say I have come very far but still have a long way to go,” she adds.

She is often asked about the kind of story writing she specializes in. However, Anantica does not really have an inclination toward a particular genre.
